Two women cover for a dust storm while pulling water out of a well. Most of the wells have dryed up or the water has become to salty for human consumption. The pastoral drought of 2006 could affect 11 million farmers and herders in the Horn of Africa and Sudan, including 3 million Kenyans. As a result of the drought conditions over the past few years, herders have lost tens of thousands of goats, sheep, cattle and even camels.
