Sheep from a Maasai community at a check dam. The Maasai call this Rain Water Harvesting structure osilange. It's made out of an earth dam in an area where rain water flows down. This is a traditional method to harvest rain water and a good example of how to adapt to climate change and global warming. After a good rain season this osilange can provide water to people and animals during six months. The water is not only used for the drinking of the animals but also for the Maasai who boil it at home or drink it from its source without filtering.
